Advantages of heterojunction HIT batteries

1. Wide range of applications: HIT batteries are widely used in solar panels, urban public transportation, communication equipment, power installation projects, national defense technology, or in different economic fields such as ocean navigation and domestic aviation. HIT batteries play an important role that cannot be missed.

2. High potential for efficiency improvement: The N-type silicon wafer used in HIT cells has a high minority carrier lifetime, and the corresponding structure of amorphous silicon passivation treatment can also achieve a lower surface recombination rate, so that silicon heterojunction solar energy The open circuit voltage of the cell is much higher than that of traditional monocrystalline silicon solar cells, and its efficiency potential is as high as 2% greater than current PERC cells using P-type silicon wafers.

3. Low cost, simple and uncomplicated production process: HIT cells combine the low-temperature manufacturing advantages of thin-film solar cells and avoid traditional high-temperature processes. The HIT process is relatively simple, and all production processes can be implemented in only four parts.

4. High stability and high efficiency: HIT cells have good light stability. The Staebler-Wronski effect is not found in the amorphous silicon film in the heterojunction, which means that the cell conversion efficiency will not show signs of decline due to light exposure. .

5. Double-sided solar cell: HIT solar cell is a very good double-sided solar cell. There is basically no color difference between the front and the back, and the bifacial rate (referring to the ratio of the efficiency of the back of the solar cell to the efficiency of the front) can reach more than 90%, which is extremely high. The highest can reach 98%, and the core competitiveness of backside power generation is obvious.

Disadvantages of heterojunction HIT batteries

1. Equipment investment is high. Due to the use of thin film deposition technology, high-demand vacuum equipment is required;

2. The process requirements are strict. Obtaining a low interface state amorphous silicon/crystalline silicon interface requires relatively high process environment and operation requirements;

3. Transparent conductive films are generally made of indium oxide doped with metal oxides. The cost is high, and the resistivity of low-temperature silver paste is high, resulting in high unit consumption of silver paste;

4. A low-temperature component packaging process is required. Due to the low-temperature process characteristics of HJT cells, the subsequent high-temperature packaging process of traditional crystalline silicon cells cannot be used, and a suitable low-temperature packaging process needs to be developed.
